Come learn how to design and create a two layer, two color screen printed poster. You will learn every part of the screen printing process, from coating a screen, drawing a transparency, to mixing ink, registering and pulling your first print. You will go home with series of prints that you create and will have all the skills you need to start coming and working independently at the printshop. Come with some ideas, drawings, and images to work from. This class includes free open studio time from 5-8 the Tuesday evening between classes, where you can come work on your designs with my support.
I want to leave the subject matter of this class open. Is there some kind of political messaging you'd like to create a piece of art around? Are you hosting an event and want to create a beautiful hand made poster? We will look at examples of successful and compelling poster design, and the use of text and imagery to an create an eye catching piece of art.
