This 4-hour comprehensive hands-on class teaches you all the basics of screen printing at the PTCPS. You will be guided through the process of printing a one-color screen print on paper: From learning how to draw a transparency, coating and burning a screen, to pulling your first print! Get comfortable with the PTCPS layout, equipment and culture. Learn about techniques for creating screens, terminology, and more to create 1-color projects at the PTCPS. Students will walk away with a series of one-color prints on paper of a design one of our volunteers created.
Teacher: Claire Ragland is one of the founders of the PTCPS and a printmaker who specializes in screen printing and aquatint etching. She got her MFA in printmaking at University of New Orleans where she also worked as an assistant printmaking teacher.
