March 29th
12 - 4PM
$100 ($90 for members) / max 8 students
————————
This workshop will introduce the use of rubylith stencils into the screenprinting process.
Rubylith is a clear film with light-blocking red material on one side, that can be used to make imagery for
screenprinting.
Rubylith has a crisp and graphic feel, similar to a woodcut or lino print.
Using an exacto knife, we will cut a rubylith stencil and expose it on a silkscreen to create a small edition of prints.
In this class, you'll learn how to prepare a screen for printing, expose imagery on a silkscreen, design and cut
rubylith stencils, and screenprint your design on paper.
Please bring an image or photograph (max size 8" x 10") you would like to work from.
